If you thought our standard Acer XK irons were easy to hit, you haven’t experienced anything yet. Pushing the design envelope even further, we replaced the stainless steel face with a thin sheet of lightweight titanium to experience the same benefits of a modern titanium driver wrapped up into an iron.
Titanium was selected for two reasons. First it provides a responsive striking zone to increase ball speed and distance. Secondly it allows for an extraordinary source of weight savings that can used to create unparalleled forgiveness for laser-like accuracy.
If you don’t think there is some weight in the face to be saved, you would be wrong. Simply substituting titanium where the stainless steel face resided, we shed 45% or a total of 25g of weight from the face.
All this weight was then put to much better use by placing it in the toe and in the sole to help stabilize the head more so on off-center shot.
Now image your same old swing rejuvenated by producing greater distance with no additional effort, in addition to creating a higher ball flight, more spin to hold the greens and with pinpoint accuracy. You can have it all with the Acer XK Ti-Ceptional irons.

All of the golf experts have written books, made videos and given classes on the proper way to put. The putter has gone through hundreds if not thousands of modifications over the years. It has gone all the way from a stick with a flat surface to the modern high tech state of the art perfectly weighted and a lined work of art. Along the way we have seen putters of all lengths from short to the extended ones that must be at least five foot tall. I have one of these and it is great when your are playing the local fun tournament that allows you to move the ball a club length also when you use it to measure where to drop your ball after a penalty. We went from the standard blade head, to the mallet, to extended alignment marks or ball design. There are even ones that look like some type of advanced farm implement or like a space craft that Luke Skywalker would love to fly. I even have one that looks like a cigar. It is very versatile, you can use it to put right handed or left handed, you can even put off the end of the toe or heel.
Golfers also have to deal with the advanced golf course equipment that mows the greens so close that it is near imposable to see the individual blades of grass. If that is not enough we have the roller that smoothes and packs the greens in order to speed them up. There is always the “Stint Metter” that tells us how fast a ball will role on the green. We used to, some of us still do, figure this out by putting a ball on the green and watching it roll, after which we would are will express our pleasure or displeasure in the appropriate words.
With all of the things that must be considered while putting, right putter, type of grass, break, speed, grip, grain and weather conditions it is a wonder that all golfers don’t have a nervous breakdown. Many of us do it is called the yips, it keeps the sports psychologist busy. But we keep coming back.
We realize that aproxamently one half of all the strokes in golf are made with the putter. So here is my opion of the Art of Putting, which is quite simple. Find a putter that feels good to you. Choose the grip you want to use and practice, practice and more practice until you are confident that every put is going in the hole. Unless you are like me if you have enough time for all of this practice would you rather be playing another round of this great game. After all it is a game.

ESPN has announced that the top ranked player in women’s golf will hold a press conference to discuss Lorena Ochoa’s plans for retirement. Rumors have been circulating since her December marriage to Aero México executive Andres Conesa.
Close friend and competitor Christina Kim, in a recently published book, wrote, “Lorena is like a comet passing by — you better enjoy her now, because she will be gone before you know it.” ”I have little doubt she’ll retire after the 2012 season,” Kim wrote in her book. “She will be 31 then. …”. Well it looks like that time line may have been moved up some.
Lorena has stated “I don’t want to be playing and have kids at the same time, so when it’s time to think about a family I will finish with my golf.” If this is the case I wish her healthy and happy children in the future. She will be surely missed by ladies professional golf and her many fans.
Few golfers, men or women, have achieved so much so fast. She has qualified for the LPGA Hall of Fame except for the required 10 years of LPGA membership. Her numerous tournament wins and money earned are over shadowed by the tremendous work being done by her foundation for the misfortunate children of Mexico. I am sure that Lorena will continue with this very worthwhile project.
If Lorena decides to retire, I for one will greatly miss her outstanding golf and lady like conduct shown over these few short years. I wish her the best in all her future endeavors. I can only thank her for all of the great memories she has provided us. Lorena Thank You.
You can go to Lorena’s website to learn more about her as a person and to the LPGA for information on her playing career and stats.

First of all I am not a Tiger Woods fan although I do believe that he is one of the greatest golfers the game has ever seen. The “News media” has continued to produce hundreds, if not thousands, of written articles and video clips about his infidelity. I for one believe that this is a personnel family matter and should receive the privacy and consideration that would be rendered to “Joe the Plumber”. It is none of my business. One question I do have is, Did all of the women who were involved with Tiger think that he was not married? I don’t think so; or doesn’t that count anymore?
It is time that the news media go back to reporting on the things that matter to us like all of the good things that Tiger Woods has done for people around the world. The Tiger Wood Foundation continues to provide outstanding program to young people. He has always given respect and support to veterans and the military of the United States. This man has contributed his time and millions of dollars to charities throughout the world.
If the news media needs to dig into some thing or someone so that they can “sale newspapers” I would like to recommend several politicians.
In order to judge him you should know something about him. It is time that we let Tiger go back to playing golf and the Woods family the opportunity to work out their problems.

Interchangeable shaft technology is all well and good, but what if you had technology that would allow you to adjust the lie and face angle of the clubhead itself? This breakthrough technology is now available from the amazing new Dynacraft ICT. The ICT features a unique adjustable 8-position hosel. Each hosel position provides differing lie and face angles of the clubhead, allowing you to optimize the club for your swing tendencies. The hosel is instantly adjustable, which means you can make changes on-the-spot. The Prophet ICT driver is not designed as a fitting tool (although it can be used as one), rather a club you can be fit for on the spot and taken home or to the course immediately. As your game progresses or if you are simply looking for a change of new technology, additional shafts can be purchased. Imagine the possibilities of changing shafts quickly and efficiently without harming the shaft.

For over 8 years, golfers world-wide had enjoyed the virtues of the original Acer XDS Wide Sole series iron. Golfers found out first hand what the benefits that a wide sole iron can provide. The Acer XDS Cabriolet takes that same concept and combines it with the modern hybrid. Some hybrids on the market are merely a hollow-bodied iron as a way to move weight further back from the face to create greater forgiveness on off-center shots and the purpose of a wide sole iron is to shift a higher concentration of weight lower to assist in getting the ball up quickly and easily. The Acer XDS Cabriolet does both by starting out with the chassis of a hybrid but removing the heavy crown and relocating that weight to the extra wide sole creating the best of both worlds; an iron look with hybrid accuracy.
